Hello Friends,
Just wanted to give an update on Young Life at Grafton and in the Mountaineer Area. God is teaching me a lot through my times at Grafton. Right now it is exciting and hard depending on the day. God has blessed me with many answered prayers recently and is constantly encouraging me in the midst of the hard moments. It truly is such a rewarding experience to develop relationships with high school kids and to "earn the right to be heard" (common YL phrase). Basically we earn the right to share the gospel through friendship. It's great!
Prayers: For me to continue to get to know the school, community, and kids better all the time. For our fall weekend trip on Nov 7-9 - many kids will go! For me to constantly be in prayer for opportunities and for growing friendships with my friends at Grafton.
Next big YL thing is the first ever Young Life College in this area is tomorrow night! It is a way to allow us as leaders to invite our peers and our friends from high school as well as to get in touch with those who were a part of YL in their high school years but never God plugged into anything once they reached WVU. Please be in prayer about that event!! There could be anywhere from 50 - 200 people. The facebook invite says 88ppl are coming and 188 are maybes...that could make for a pretty big crowd. But truly, only God knows what is in store!
On a personal note, the girl leaders are doing a Bible study by Beth Moore about Daniel: Lives of Integrity - Words of Prophecy. Beth Moore is a woman with incredible knowledge and wisdom of God's word and she brings it so alive in her studies. It is awesome and I look forward to writing about what I am learning! :)
